watching Tag (2018) and it is HUGELY fun, a movie about grown men playing this silly game of tag but filmed like a proper action thriller, all very intense but with unbelievably low stakes, gloriously silly, would recommend if you like gloriously silly movies

It genuinely feels like we turned some sort of corner recently where national-level politicians feel totally free to say the most racist shit imaginable, and correctly assume they will face zero consequences. Maybe I've memory-holed stuff or am just naive but man does this feel different.
This is the type of speech that Elon Musk bought Twitter in order to unleash, normalize and amplify. He has said all along that his goal was to make it less "woke" and he has succeeded. And Republicans love him for it.

(an addendum here is that it's obviously fine for men to not want to have kids, but often I think what happens is that they're unwilling to take a decision either way before the point at which their partner either flat out can't have kids anymore, or can maybe just have the one)

I just know *so many women* who've waited years and years for their partner to decide he was ready to have kids / who got strung along by men for years when said men actually never wanted kids / who know they want kids but just can't find anyone to settle down with

fix that! somehow!

absolutely true that lots of women, now they have the option to have a fulfilling life in other ways, don't want to be mothers (good!) but also absolutely true that lots of women in their twenties and thirties do want to have kids but have to hang around and wait for their dumb boyfriends to grow up

being entirely serious here when I say that only solution that I'm certain would work, if you could somehow make it happen, would be to get millions of men to stop being babies until the age of about 38
I will note that there really is no 'one magic trick' to encouraging people to have babies. European states with strong welfare support have lower total fertility rates than America.

i think most of this is dead on arrival, of course, but i also think this is a great maximalist start to thinking of court reform AND some of this stuff, especially the large expansion of the circuit and district courts, is absolutely feasible in the next four years.
Sweeping bill to overhaul Supreme Court would add six justices
The legislation by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) is one of the most ambitious efforts to date to remake the Supreme Court following controversies over rulings and ethics.

Among the several questions I’d like answered by right-wing politicians worldwide are these two:

What is the ideological source of your beliefs?

Speaking of sources, where is your funding coming from?
