(an addendum here is that it's obviously fine for men to not want to have kids, but often I think what happens is that they're unwilling to take a decision either way before the point at which their partner either flat out can't have kids anymore, or can maybe just have the one)

I just know *so many women* who've waited years and years for their partner to decide he was ready to have kids / who got strung along by men for years when said men actually never wanted kids / who know they want kids but just can't find anyone to settle down with

absolutely true that lots of women, now they have the option to have a fulfilling life in other ways, don't want to be mothers (good!) but also absolutely true that lots of women in their twenties and thirties do want to have kids but have to hang around and wait for their dumb boyfriends to grow up
