I wrote a blog for the Meta-Research Center expressing my infinite frustration about not getting data. What else is new, you might think? Well, I added an extra layer of annoyance directed at the journals who do NOTHING to enforce promised data sharing.

@tklebel.bsky.social and I tried to make our introduction as accessible as possible. We illustrate the theory by three case studies based on a simulated model of Open Science. 🧵(1/6)

This is definitely one for my 'best podcast quotes' file - who DOES want to eat cake with no icing?? 🧁 😄 But Kirsty High makes an excellent point - impact is still too often seen as a 'nice to have' rather than an integral part of doing research well.

Had a chuckle at this line from C. Thi Nguyen @add-hawk.bsky.social:

"After all, step counts are not the same as
health, and citation rates are not the same as wisdom".

How much freer would we be if we resisted quantification across all aspects of our life?

Explainers & tutorials are a great way to criticize current practices with a positive twist. Tailoring them to a specific substantive (!) subfield can greatly increase uptake. Forget about novelty; if some statistican said sth in the 70s but no one was around to hear it, say it again.>
