When you think appealing to liberal electeds and influencer grifters is the work of socialists, this makes sense.

For those actually in Chicago DSA, organizing the working class remains the goal
Bread & Roses + other caucuses left Chicago DSA in a smoldering crater that Groundwork and SMC now have to rebuild from scratch. Don't take my word for it though, look at their 2023 endorsements all going down bad except Angela Clay. A real chapter would never put themselves in these bad situations

This is a newspaper that published numerous stories about a 17 year old from Uganda checking a box on a college form that said “African American”
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

in online corners like these I think people largely recognize how credulous, unprincipled opposition to "wokeness" functioned as lightly papered over defenses of impunity, but it's one of those drums people should probably start beating for normies
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

Silwa is who the marginal Trump II voter thought Trump was
i think the thing which is most redeeming about Sliwa is that he is absolutely a reactionary but he is also absolutely committed to multiracial solidarity

MLs: The liberal DSA will never be a vanguard party

the sneaky Overton window:
Jonathan Choe to Trump: "Another group right now that is behind antifa and working with antifa very closely based on the research that we have right now that we're gonna give to you and your team are the Democratic Socialists of America."

having interests and preferences and being open about it automatically means you're trying to cultivate an image rather than simply liking those things
Without QTs or screenshots, what are your favorite delusional takes on social? Here's a few of mine:

- having a dog is racist
- black people don't like to go outdoors
- education is pro-fascist
- it's ableist to support striking workers
- Cubans have to put condoms on pizza because of communism

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

You do have to wonder how much of the ubiquity of QAnon/Epstein/other child trafficking conspiracy theories that have colonized society in the last few years is about people wanting to find an alternative version of MeToo that doesn't involve having to actually do anything real for actual victims.

but high levels of immigration are completely consistent with liberal ideology. the biggest problem American liberalism faces is continued support for Israel among democratic leadership and many liberal elites. the internal contradictions have wreaked havoc on the party (to say nothing of gazans)
The biggest problem American liberalism faces is how to maintain high levels of immigration while respecting the democratic will of the public. I have an idea.

Liberals don’t have to lose on immigration
“Moderating” on immigration doesn't mean abandoning it

So many liberals think that if you live next door to someone who voted wrong, you deserve to have your children drown, but if you suggest they bear any culpability whatsoever for voting for an an administration that was arming a genocide, they will call you an insane freak obsessed with purity tests

The New York Times is more destructive than Fox News. Fox appeals to the conservative base and they do not have the reach or influence with non conservatives than the Times does. The Times to millions is the authoritative voice on news events. When they shovel shit it has far more effect than Fox.
After Fox News, no outlet has been more helpful to the ongoing rise of fascism in the United States than the New York Times. And it’s not even close.

A party committed to winning would have had Trump awaiting his trials in jail and all Republicans pols publicly supportive of J6 expelled from Congress. It would have packed the courts and done any number of things legislatively and executively to prevent future fascism. It didn't.

The Democratic establishment of candidates, consultants, party fundraisers and operatives would much rather lose on their terms than win by conceding an inch to the left and risk their donorbase/future employments and if you can't see that you're either a mark or deeply committed to not seeing it.
Do you think Democrats are genuinely, seriously trying to lose elections
Why do you think democrats don’t actually use good strategy to win? Could it perhaps be because they are co-opted by capital and thus controlled opposition? Could it be that they do fascistic policies and enable genocide? Do we need to possibly contend with the economic organization of society?
