Excellent example of the press losing its way. News outlets once "comforted the afflicted, afflicted the comfortable." Now they work for billionaires and investors to mock beleaguered travelers packed like rats.

Real journalists would do a story on the worst-behaved, predatory airlines of 2025.

These declines are MASSIVE.

And the comparative silence in media coverage is absolutely DAMNING.

“Why are ppl always so afraid of crime?”

THIS is why. When crime goes up, media trips over itself to report it.

Falls to pre-war (!!) levels? Just CRICKETS.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

A hill on which I will die: Calvin and Hobbes is one of the great pieces of 20th-century American literature in no small part because it was never turned into anything aside from a comic strip. Leave it be.

NEW: Without USAID funding to help buy food for refugees, the World Food Program rushed to prioritize families based on need, determining that only half the population would get food.

Refugees learned which half they were in from a number stamped on the back of their ration card.

ICE sprayed a one-year-old in the face with pepper spray.

The child and parents are US citizens, but that doesn't even matter.

These monsters pepper-sprayed a baby.

We cannot allow ICE to continue this behavior, and they aren't going to reform themselves.

This is really important context missing from everyone’s posting about the tanker the Navy seized near Venezuela today.
Yeah, the process of getting this tanker started back during the first half of the Biden administration. There's been a really big international push to nab it for years. As soon as I saw the headline, I was like oh, it HAS to be that ship because surely the Navy isn't that dumb?

The way tech companies constantly do stuff that nobody asked for really tells you a lot about their bigger ideology. They tell themselves that you will like it over time. What they mean is you’ll learn to endure it, or you’ll give up. quality of UI is not actually anywhere on their radar
new iOS update is sleek and also defaults in Music to “you must want songs transition as they would on a dance floor.” so many people will wonder why they can’t just listen to an album. Apps > Music > Song Transitions > toggle off.

I've been saying for the better part of a year that Trump is on a mission to decriminalize corruption. To make it the legal equivalent of jaywalking.

I feel that more strongly now than I ever had.

The sleight-of-hand here - which Hawley understands but many people, including Trump, obviously don’t - is that deducting something on your taxes doesn’t magically mean uncle Sam pays for it. It just reduces the amount of income that is taxable. You still gotta shell out for whatever you deduct!
