Durbin said critics of his vote “need to understand how the Senate works”

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

What we are seeing is a replay of the surrender on Covid protections because it was going to impact the wealth class in a way that would make it harder to accrue wealth without consequences.

Liberals already made the choice to kill millions to maintain the wealth class status quo.
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

The answer of why #Detroit will never have mass transit ever lies right here.

Those same reactionaries would rather burn down all the trees in Michigan than potentially let THOSE people have easier public transit across the region.

This includes buses, too.
For all my “far left” politics, my most taboo opinion is probably that modern car culture inherently encourages reactionary politics. Whether the driver is a cop or a middle-aged TikTokker in sunglasses, cars/trucks are like mobile fortresses for people who see the general public as a threat.
The practice of Baltimore police officers using their cars as weapons is nothing new
