Forgot to skeet this lol, but I'm writing a book. It's called RAPID ONSET, and it looks at the anti-trans culture industry via the decline of US empire.

I'm really glad the anti-trans Medicaid exclusions were removed from Trump's billionaire bailout but a bill that still kicks 20 million (largely working class) people off their health insurance is still going to have a disastrous impact including and especially on trans people. Kill the bill.

bad news for Mamdani: i just imagined him shooting at my feet with two revolvers while shouting "dance! dance, ya varmint, dance!!" and then cackling so maniacally that his cowboy hat falls off. When will he go on TV to apologize for doing this

NYTimes is coming out in full force against the LGBTQ community.

Returning to their roots! They only pretended to accept queer people for a few years when it was considered vogue and hip.
lol. lmao. yes, sure, the gay rights movement needs to return to its extremely quiet and historically right of center roots.

This amounts to state-sponsored detransition for more than 152,000 people
6. According to the UCLA Williams Institute, more than 152,000 transgender Americans currently rely on Medicaid for their care. Stripping that coverage would make surgeries cost-prohibitive for many, with procedures often running into the tens of thousands of dollars.

With cruel work requirements threatening to strip millions of Medicaid, I joined Death Panel to talk about the rise of the "working homeless"—and how policy violence, disguised as reform, masks a brutal truth: in America, grinding labor doesn't guarantee even the bare essentials of survival.
In our latest, @reallandsend.bsky.social and @city.bsky.social speak with ‪Brian Goldstone about how we systematically, and intentionally, undercount the homeless, and Brian’s new book There Is No Place for Us: Working and Homeless in America

say it again:

4 million people work in higher ed, the largest employer in 10 states, second largest employer in 10 more, and in 60 of the 100 biggest cities

ROI for NIH and NSF for local economies is conservatively 4x, often close to 10x

demolishing higher education is economic sabotage
There is a false dichotomy drawn between "the ivory tower" and "the real world," and I'm here to report that in a post-industrial society, your real-world economy absolutely hinges on the university.

University towns are factory towns. Universities drive economic activity, not the other way around.
