Get the early scoop on transit funding for next year!
Bay Area transit just had one of its most politically successful legislative sessions in part because of @transbaycoalition.bsky.social & our leadership in the pro-transit community.

But there is still a lot of work ahead - so come party it up & help raise funds to strengthen transit advocacy.

At a ribbon cutting today, BART marked the completion of a transformation of North Berkeley Station that will make it easier for more people to walk and bike to the station and set the stage for the future TOD at the station, which will bring hundreds of affordable homes to the community.

SB 63 is headed to the Governor's desk. It is a historic opportunity to allow voters in 5 counties of the Bay Area to consider a sales tax measure in Nov 2026 to preserve and improve transit. BART, and the entire transit network that keeps the Bay Area moving, stand to benefit from this bill.

SB63, the bill authorising a regional ballot measure to raise money for Bay Area public transit agencies passed the Senate floor at around 1:30 am last night! Headed to the Governor who from what I understand has until Oct 12 to sign it.
Now onto the Senate floor 😬
SB63 passes Assembly Floor! Transportation Chair Lori Wilson reads from a letter signed by over 30 local electeds in San Mateo County expressing their support. Assembly Members from all 5 counties speak in favor.

BayPass demonstrated students’ excitement about public transit. We should be dreaming of new stations, late-night service, and better frequencies — not worrying over cuts that would leave us stranded.

Stand up for our youth, call Governor Newsom today: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

We’re announcing new legislation (SB 63) to provide long-term stable funding to Bay Area transit systems, authorizing a multi-county revenue measure for 2026.

If we do nothing, major systems (BART, Muni, AC Transit, Caltrain) will be forced into massive service cuts.

We must not let that happen.🧵
