Another preventable crash at an intersection with tons of pedestrian traffic. Driver turning left and either wasn’t paying attention or saw her too late.

We need to do so much more to make East Bay Streets safer for everyone, particularly in places like this, where so many are walking or biking.

this seems specifically designed to break mail-in voting (where deadlines are defined by postmark)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

Paid parking has its place in the city's transportation ecosystem, but it's far better to just get rid of as much on-street parking as possible. This is what the best cities in the world are doing and there's no reason New York City shouldn't follow suit.

If I am killed and the case goes to trial do NOT create an AI of me.
This year marked the first time the AI avatar of a victim—in this case, a dead man—has ever addressed a court, and it raises many questions about the use of this type of technology in future court proceedings.

No matter what tech bros tell you, Waymo is an attack on public transit. The reason they deny this fact, rather than admitting that they just don’t care, is because the median voter cares a lot more about the bus than a driverless car.

Huge thanks to everyone at @bart.gov and @sfmta.com who have kept the lights on and dealt with the PG&E failures over the last week! SFMTA's main headquarters was without power until this morning, making the work to keep up with the rolling failures particularly challenging.

The PR push around “we’re taking the power outage in the Richmond very seriously” lowkey icks me out for how much it de-centred the rest of the city. Thousands of people in Civic Center have no power OR water w/ yet another quiet delay, and narry a peep from Mr Vertical Video.

AI is such a disaster for the climate, it already put San Diego under water
This was posted yesterday by a retired senior officer and now corporate leader. If AI cannot even generate a map of the US accurately what is it all about?

Lunacy.

Americans & Europeans needlessly exposing African babies to preventable diseases just to see if they can find something that would justify their preexisting antivaccine beliefs is not only unscientific and actually anti-science, it is very much reminiscent of colonialist, racist human rights abuses
“It is not clear what the research question is. It seems to be about the safety of the vaccine rather than its effectiveness, but both are already well-established, and to undertake such a study in a population where almost 1/5 of the adult population has a marker of infection seems extremely risky”

“Worlds Safest Driver” Waymo spent all last night stopped in streets and intersections across SF due to a power outage. You’d think they’d plan for something like that.

At least one blocked an emergency response vehicle. This is what happens when a company gets to run a public service.

Cars are not as useful as people think they are in a widespread emergency or natural disaster. Driverless cars even less so.
Failed Waymo robot blocking emergency services during a widespread emergency:

Grant St at Sacramento, heart of Chinatown, San Francisco

I've been warning about this scenario for ~7 yrs. Safety drivers fix this in seconds. SFPD will prob have to drive this out of the way.
