Breaking: Noah Smith has been sucked out the window of a plane. It was a Boeing, but it wasn't a mechanical failure - his fellow passengers broke it open and threw him out

Before google maps you just had a buddy in another car who said “follow me” then proceeded to run a late yellow at the next intersection.

Smalls, the only Black flotilla member, appears to be the only one who has been treated this way
Gaza Freedom Flotilla has released statement that Black labour leader Chris Smalls (Amazon Labour Union) faced violence that no one else on Handala did. He has been severely beaten in Israeli custody.

Smalls follows in legacy of Black radical tradition for Palestine. Labour must stand for Smalls.

Where on earth are they getting these guys?

These guys have been throwing random people into gulags without a second thought but they've suddenly rediscovered the concept of presumption of innocence

Elon’s response, as far as I can tell, was to fire the new X Head of Product after one week on the job when he tweeted out an oblique criticism of Grok.
Has Musk apologized yet for his Hitler-loving AI?

I can’t see it if he has.

Have Republican and Democratic Party leaders alike demanded an apology from him and an investigation into how it happened?

Or is antisemitism just a cudgel used to attack supporters of Palestinians?

One mistake people make with these letters is assume they're written for humans, but they're not. There's no contrast.

They're written for shareholders, & for them, this text is just a non-stop parade of good news. Record numbers? All verticals up? Layoffs?! What a feast, for them, what a feast.
language like this is so insulting, imo. is it a compulsory thing for CEOs to need to brag while laying people off?

Microsoft never should have been allowed to acquire Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard-King, it should have been blocked for the clear monopoly making move it was, and anyone with pattern recognition could've seen this coming, because voraciously acquisition always comes with mass layoffs.

Re: Diddy being acquitted on sex trafficking charges, one of the reasons the MeToo backlash has been so effective is because the court system enables a commentary class to say the absence of a guilty verdict means that women and victims are liars. In reality it’s incredibly hard and rare to convict

Important to note; Japan has way stricter laws around laying people off. Actual protections from its government that force companies to do things like have execs take pay cuts before doing a mass layoff. The solution to this problem is not a “good” CEO. It’s systemic and complete reform.
I remember a time Nintendo leader Satoru Iwata took a paycut himself to prevent laying off developers. They really don't make the like they used to.

This might seem like a small thing compared to the concentration camps and deportations, but these attempts to make everyone feel isolated and helpless and paranoid are also part of the fascist project.

When Fanbyte got shuttered, HR was noticeably angry that people were hanging up on them during the layoff calls which were held in Slack huddles.

Their Slack accounts were getting deactivated *during the calls.* HR blamed the people anyway.
As one illustration of just how sloppy and chaotic today's mass Xbox layoff has been, some employees at Zenimax Online Studios are now watching their Slack accounts abruptly get locked out. No message from HR, no word on whether they still have a job, just an ominous Slack deactivation
