Oft-failed exercise in self-parody. Bottom part of the top left corner. (he/him)
FWIW my father, a lifetime smoker (who turns 79 today!) and is on heart/blood pressure meds, often develops marks like this on his hands and arms. He bruises if you look at him cross-eyed. Looks to me like "old man on blood thinners got an IV". The skin tone though- that's pure rot. Soul on out.

I think you're making a mistake if you take any of the paid actor framing from Republicans as anything other than bad faith They're ignorant, but they're not that ignorant. It's propaganda (and it's not going to work)
The inability to understand or relate to everyday citizens of this country seems problematic for people entrusted to be our leaders.
Emmer: "The people you're seeing in these videos, the vast majority of them I do not believe are from Minnesota. These are organized chaos agents, paid agitators. The vast majority of Minnesotans that are talking to me appreciate that law enforcement has arrived, and they are happy they're there."

A lot of this is just “they got older”. There’s so many legit reasons to despise these people- slow down with this awfulplasticsurgery dot com assed bullshit.

I think it's just that what starts out a seeming like gibberish and turns into a novel feeling framing of an obvious concept most folks understand makes for a pretty amusing read. (and yeah, there's also lots of Bluesky doorknobs not getting it).
Are people sharing this because "these guys think this widely understood concept of psychological pricing that is conventional wisdom is some kind of new thinking" or "look at these idiots and their crazy concept of psychological pricing" because honestly round here it could be either

Suggested rules for the grocery store
1- Pay attention and don't be in the way.
2- Don't shop as a couple/family/group unless you're elite at following #1.
3- Don't leave your cart behind to walk and get something. (it's not a person, it can't follow #1)
4- See #1
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

An idea from the usenet/message board days was that you shouldn't post until you've spent time reading and understanding the vibe/norms. Nobody would wait out or implement it, but making people wait a week after registering before they could start yelling about the fridge would rule.
lot of things i could say here but mostly i guess i would like to implore everyone to find a personality other than "least favorite roommate during a house meeting in portland, oregon"

Little clubs make for better online experiences! The quality of discourse is not going to improve by welcoming assholes with regressive opinions. It's good that those people get yelled at and run off. What magic thing happens when Bluesky beats Twitter?
I want this site to beat twitter, and for twitter to evaporate. For that to happen, people you hate must have a more pleasant experience posting here than posting there.

A minority of this site decided instead that they want it to be their little club, so that's what we have.

While I appreciate that self-checkout is a way to eliminate jobs for humans, a self check out station has never asked me what my plans were when I was buying ice cream and mountain dew at 9:30 on Friday night. (plus I'm faster than the human checkers after a decade plus of doing it myself)
Use the human checkout line instead of self checkout.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Stood in line for the buffet the Rio behind Drew Gooden and his obscenely diamond coated tennis bracelet.

The other basketballing Ervin Johnson took a test for a correspondence course in our office because it was determined he'd be a distraction if he was proctored with other students.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

I realize I'm making a serious response to a joke, but a few points.

1- ChatGPT can be incredibly helpful accessibility tool for people who struggle with executive function/cognitive issues (e.g. - people with ADHD like my partner, for whom ChatCPT has had a meaningfully positive impact).
you can tell it's for dummies because it's more than one page long and says more than "don't fuckin' use it"

GREATEST WSU FOOTBALLING COUGAR EVER I WILL NOT BE REASONABLE ABOUT THIS
for no particular reason, I am looking at the 1992 Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, when the AP went with WR Carl Pickens (26 catches, 326 yards, 1 TD, plus one return TD) and the PFWA gave it to kicker Jason Hanson

I think Whittingham is the best possible hire UM could have made in this context. Throw money at a GM and let him make Michigan an even more smashy team than Jim’s (and without all the on and off field bullshit). Seeing a lot of people here talking yang and clearly not knowing the guy or his teams.
NEW NEWSLETTER, featuring some early thoughts on Kyle Whittingham and Michigan. (More later.)

I'm seeing people whose opinions I respect bemoan this departure and boy howdy I don't get it. To me, he was "Bowen Yang" in every sketch I saw, regardless of hat, and Bowen Yang is a kinda funny bit that quickly grows old and obvious.
Bowen Yang, who joined ‘Saturday Night Live’ as a writer in 2018 before joining the cast the following year, is leaving the NBC sketch-comedy series. The Ariana Grande episode on December 20 will mark his grand finale.

My grandfather played organ for WSU baseball and as such we went to a lot of games. In my likely faulty memory, Bobo Brayton got thrown out of at least one half of every double header I attended, too much celebration.
I use to work in a town that is big on baseball. Parents would gleefully tell stories about certain coaches and parents would be thrown out of tournaments for arguing umps like it was the birth of their child. One step away from Randy Marsh from South Park, but unironically.
Why would anyone want to be an official for women's hoops when you see how Kim Mulkey abuses officials and gets no punishment for it? Or a Little League umpire when parents spew torrents of abuse about a 10-year-old's game? And shortages at the lower levels affects the pipeline.
