The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.

The Hepatitis B vaccine, given at birth, is done so for a very clear medical reason: to protect babies from exposure to a virus that can cause devastating chronic liver disease.

Screening first was tried years ago and didn’t work - it’s why we vaccinate, so we don’t miss anyone.

Everything being discussed by this new vaccine committee has been discussed and well considered for years.

Their revisiting of indications for the Measles Mumps Rubella Varicella combo vaccine and Hepatitis B isn’t radical transparency. It’s just flooding the zone with confusion and helps no one.

Calling for RFK’s resignation is less than the bare minimum. People have already died bc of decisions he’s made. The impacts of what he’s done over the last few months will already be felt for decades even if they could all be reversed today. Not demanding actual consequences is missing the moment.

We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.
