We need to get control of deer numbers (& exotic ungulates) in NZ before widespread forest ecosystem collapse ensues. This piece I wrote for @theconversationnz.bsky.social in 2022 is still very much true today especially with the push for herds of special interest theconversation.com/despite-the-...

“That’s our message to people - we can change this.”

It’s great to see a party leader being so matter of fact about policy basics and unequivocal about the fact they are absolutely possible to achieve for New Zealanders.

We talking about shopping small? I am small. I also donate a portion of my art product sales to conservation efforts, so my best to reduce waste and produce locally, and make good art that people seem to like 💜💜💜
I never do sales, but I'm doing a big Christmas sale this year! Shop #kikorangi local, support an artist, and give unique gifts that always hit with their recipient!

Get in and snag bundle deals, marked down tees, and restocked items that were previously sold out: pepperraccoon.com/collections/...

In the past year alone, the current govt has passed a law that gave more of our taxpayer money away to benefit landlords ($2.9 Billion) than the govt has spent in the entire 36-year history of all the Treaty of Waitangi settlements ($2.2 Billion).

Pondering how we are a country of endless policies, frameworks and strategies but are consistently terrible at implementation.

People even write things called implementation strategies and then just....don't do them?

Quick video for the 'we saved too many lives, spent too much $, sent inflation to the moon, made interest rates go up, and now we have to pay for our sins 😢' crowd.
The idea that NZ could have 'opted out' of global inflation surge is daft. Almost as daft as NZ opting almost uniquely for a recession.
