Did you know. That the meme-explosion that was the wooden model of Sacabambaspis (an Ordovician jawless fish) held at a Museum in Helsinki, was created by a pioneering Estonian fish paleontologist and palaeoartist, Elga Mark-Kurik. 🧵

The famed model held in Helsinki is made out of silicone (from a sculpted foam template), with added doll eyes. It exploded online and turned into a mascot character (サカバンバスピス) in the Japanese pop culture from late 2022 onwards.

Happy Marsupial Monday!

We love a #TreeKangaroo, & Bennett’s tree-kangaroo is a special one. With a small range in Northern Qld, this is an elusive creature with a large leap. This image appeared in the 1894 Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London.

Currently watching a movie with my lovely hubby. But as I've got older I've found I need to relate to characters. And I just don't for this movie. Great acting, camera shots, script, editing etc. etc. and I don't actually care. Because I don't care about the characters. Basically I'm bored.
