I asked @aoc.bsky.social about why she posted this tweet, and she said “because JD Vance is a goober, man.”

Trump clearly wrote these himself, using some bullet-point list of accomplishments someone put together. Everything, good or bad, is a setup for a great triumph of Trump’s.

I'd love to know if Trump did this for all presidents. How did, e.g. Hayes or Van Buren foreshadow Trump’s greatness?
WH added text to the pictures hanging on the wall… to sum it up: it is deranged.

Can we just pause for a moment to ask how Aotearoa got so "European" in the first place?
Musk is just straight up white nationalist now.
(And helpfully decoding that Western Civilization=Whites)

An interesting and insightful thread of possible interest to folks who happen to do a "Magnum" podcast, it occurs to me.

@djl.bsky.social, @philipmichaels.bsky.social and @snell.zone, for example. (Mahalo, as always, for the show.)
I'm re-watching Magnum P.I. and I can't believe how vastly superior the 1980s ideal of masculinity is, vs today's whining, lying misogynist edgelord ideal that we see in culture all the way up to the Presidency.
The 50's stereotypical man had at least some other things to offer. Typically noble or stoic. Perhaps serving the greater good. Instead it's now a bunch of energy drink selfish neurotics who spend too much time at the gym and have no developed personality at all but being online.

True, and also the exact summation they … we … have had to deal with going back 200 years.
"People who ascribe to an 'anarchist ideology' believe in tearing down existing systems and chaos...."
False. Incredibly lazy summation of a diverse spectrum of belief systems going back 200 years.

This reminds me that it’s time once again for my annual listening to @theincomparable.com ep #173, “Santa-Based Christmas”!

This is just in the door after hearing @lkatfield.bsky.social on @bradleyonishi.bsky.social ’s essential SWAJ, and I am already loving it.

I’ve read a lot of “how did we get here” books in the last few years, and the test for me is, does the author see and understand the NAR? Laura Field does!

Two things we have too much of today: Morality and empathy.
Imagine looking around America in 2025 and thinking, "What we need less of is morality."

If you have to get permission to teach in your area of expertise from people who are definitionally not qualified to adjudicate your expertise then you are no longer working at a university.

You’re working at a state propaganda factory.

What's interesting here is that Trump keeps calling it the Democrat Shutdown and the polling showed that people didn't believe it and blamed the Rs, BUT Chuck folding now and getting nothing makes it look like this all WAS a Dem shutdown for no reason at all. Trump wins again because of Schumer
In a new post, President Trump makes various threats and promises to air traffic controllers who have very, very difficult jobs and hold the safety of air travel in their hands.

I can’t have been the only person who saw the name of this movie and hoped it was a “crossover event” in which Sunny, M.K., Bajie, my dear Lydia, The Widow, and the rest of the “Into the Badlands” crew (most of whom, admittedly, died in S3) would reunite to save the planet?
‘PREDATOR: BADLANDS’ debuts with an A- on CinemaScore.

To quote the then-Prince of Wales in similar circumstances, Trump’s mar-a-lago-ization of the White House will be “a monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved and elegant friend."
"No, destroying the White House is not as bad as blowing up boats carrying possibly innocent people. It’s not as bad as corrupting the Justice Department. It’s not as menacing as sending troops into American cities. And yet, this hurt is sharp."
