Jake Paul won't see your mean skeets about him, but your friends who got beaten up by a professional boxer will.

I've made the same point before, but I trust the BBC will also be referring to Kemi Badenoch as 'a biological Nigerian who identifies as British', a distinction of equal importance to the same political forces this guidance is designed to empower
EXCLUSIVE
The BBC has circulated leaked guidance telling journalists to describe trans women as “biological males”.

Clarity should not come at the cost of dignity. #bbc #humanrights #journalism #transparency #transrights

Our existence breaks the rules of their narrow little world where ‘everyone is a boy or a girl and it’s easy to tell!’

They would rather torture us into fitting the boxes they made rather than learn to accept someone different.

More than once recently Important Professional People™ have mistaken me for being smart and well-informed when what I actually am is a reader of Ed Zitron who can paraphrase without the swear words
Monday's Premium: How The AI Bubble Bursts In 2026 - the largest funder of data centers is pulling out, Oracle is suffocated by debt, OpenAI's running out of money, and NVIDIA's debt-powered customer base is shrinking.

Imagine Scooby Doo saying "Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori". It would be terrible. In fact, I don't think that Scooby Doo should read any war poems out loud. He can respect the fallen in other ways.

If your cost-benefit model tells you it isn't worth investing in a tram or light rail system for an urban area with a population of well over 1m, like Leeds-Bradford, your model is wrong and should be thrown in the bin.

btw the fact that labour won't actually be treating this 660% surge as a real thing is how you know their ban on palestine action is politically motivated authoritarianism.

if pa were an actual terror threat then a surge of 660% would have the entire political and media class panicked.
i can't believe terrorism has surged by 660% since labour came to power.
Terror arrests surge by 660% due to Palestine Action ban

By "violence", they mean supporting a cause they disagree with, just like how by "censorship" they mean expressing disagreement. It's co-opting the language of civilility to disguise their authoritarianism.

The irony is that the word intifada (lit. "resistance" or "uprising") was specifically chosen by Palestinian activists as an alternative to anything that would imply violence, so it's already a euphemism. But now of course, it's being construed as a call for violence by those who oppose the cause.
Something wildly colonialist about the way we mistranslate words like "intifada" and "jihad", ignore anyone telling us we're wrong, and then arrest people based on our wilfully wrong understanding

Though no longer a new development, worth noting it's pretty useless that ESPNcricinfo aren't providing live scoring for a women's ODI between two Full Member nations (for which live streaming is freely available).

An empty scorecard simply stating/demanding 'Bet' says it all.
