Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

Re: DHS claims about killing a man today

Notice what even proven liars cannot claim and is not being said.

(So far: the same as the woman they shot multiple times in Chicago months ago)
Can't say I told you so about something I deliberately never said but

How to know the gun possession was lawful/irrelevant/unbrandished: despite trying their hardest to hype up its presence in that first statement, they didn't scream about her "illegal gun" or "attempted murder"

Body-camera video appears to contradict the government’s claim that Marimar Martinez, 30, drove toward officers before one of them opened fire at her late Saturday morning in Brighton Park, her attorney claimed.

the thing that the next dem candidate for president will have to understand and have to explain is that this court, with these powers, will not let a democratic president or a democratic majority govern, and that president and that majority will have to respond accordingly.

It’s obviously so horrible what’s going on, but there’s something so inspirational about the sheer scale of minnesotan popular resistance

In an era of such political nihilism, it feels like a shot of actual humanity

i think a big part of this is the left-liberals in america have not managed to even bypass the filibuster
I complain that constitutional reform is never taken seriously by the UK left but it pales in comparison to how little discussion within elite US liberal and left circles about serious constitutional reform.
It just now strikes me that the United States, unlike every other democracy in the world, has never ever ever had an early presidential election. This seems like a problem? Like you need to have an institutionalized path for designating an entire administration illegitimate and voting for a new one?

Schumer & Jeffries for prison
Per the Constitution it is Congress’s responsibility to keep the Executive Branch in check.

Any member of Congress who is not at this very moment working to advance emergency legislation to shut down everything ICE is doing and to hold the responsible parties to account has abdicated their oath.

Democrats can and must make it clear there will be trials and anyone even somewhat associated with ICE will face them. Maybe give a quit-your-job deadline on appeasement and give people 72 hours. I don't know. But currently the plan is to let them murder us in the street and get away with it.

Truly, who does this smug finger wagging benefit besides ICE

It can be analogous to multiple things at once, the most important thing remains that its really fucking bad

what these people is essentially want is a chief executive of the global hegemon who does not involve himself in any of the prior actions of the global hegemon. a sort of protester-in-chief whose job is not to extricate that hegemon from its moral failures but to object to them.
I think it is important for people to understand that Obama was also evil and that at least some of why people reject that (albeit not all as Shaun’s post somewhat implies) is down to aesthetics.
