The popular commentary on drones is too focused on "wow, cool drones!" rather than "why did the U.S. and partners fail to secure other, more effective forms of long-range fires for Ukraine?"
Wow impressively wrong again

I really think that Dems should demand firing RFK Jr. as a condition to fund the government

his negative value over replacement cabinet member is undoubtedly the highest in the administration

Market Garden wouldn’t have gone down like that if I was in charge. I would have gotten to Arnhem in time. I would have simply just gone faster.
Happy Market Garden to all who celebrate! I will be driving an entire corps of armor down one elevated road the entire length of The Netherlands in celebration.

Last week, we warned of a coming anti-democratic backslide. Now, we see it happening.

A parliamentary vote, led by President Volodymyr Zelensky’s lawmakers, today took away the independence of Ukraine’s key anti-corruption bodies. Zelensky signed it into law the same day.
Editorial: Zelensky just betrayed Ukraine's democracy — and everyone fighting for it
Editor’s note: This editorial has been updated to reflect the fact Zelensky signed the bill into law on the evening of July 22, as shown on the Parliament's website. Last week, we warned of a coming ...

100% Newsom is a bad person who should never get within ten feet of the presidency.

However, he is a useful attack dog and his sole focus re: national politics from now until the election should be to debate, attack, and humiliate republicans in public forums

That should be his only role
if you're mad at a trans person for saying they won't vote for Gavin Newsom

too damn bad! this is our lives! it's not a purity test when it's our lives. of course we're a one issue voter, it's our lives

you could just not nominate Newsom! but everyone knows the risk of that now, you have no excuse

CFR should do an event where fired State/USAID employees present on what they were working on before they got fired to drive home the point to the rest of the broader community of interest that this stuff is now all uncovered risk.

Really sick of extremely online leftists treating USAID like it was a little thought experiment instead of a real if flawed thing whose sudden death at the hands of Trump is currently killing hundreds of thousands of people.
The Great Sage lowered their head. "You can't do international aid without also funding the Khmer Rouge and trying to overthrow countries. You idiot. You absolute oaf."
I do not think I will take your commitment to ending genocide seriously if you're also running around agreeing with the MAGAs that murdering hundreds of thousands of people by suddenly withdrawing US aid (which is happening right now) is a *good* thing.

Why did the Biden Admin only send 33 Abrams to Ukraine? Or 1 Patriot battery and waiting for so long for a 2nd before just stopping? What about underrequesting funding for the largest land war in Europe since WW2? The US was spending more on Afghanistan yearly ($107B) at peak than Ukraine.

if you ask a liberal what their military policy is they'll say "we should cut the defense budget." if you ask a liberal what kind of military we ought to have they'll look at you blankly. i don't say this with any joy. it's a problem we need to confront!
Oy. One of the consistent failures of the left I'm seeing is the failure to understand that our efforts to create a peaceful world have failed and we now need the military again, damn it.

BTW, this "peace at any price" propaganda used to be Soviet.
