At some point, and that point is now, trying to become informed by following these legacy media outlets is doing as much for your understanding of the world as watching a streaming series. The world they are talking about does not exist. It's as fictional as Narnia to everyone except them.

If you get a 3% wage increase at work, and the annual cost of your healthcare, housing and your kids’ college tuition goes up 9%, then you didn’t really get a raise at work. We need to organize for reparative public goods so your wage means something.

Dismissed by DEI: Trump’s Purge Made Black Women With Stable Federal Jobs an “Easy Target”
The president’s attack on diversity efforts has derailed the government careers of highly educated civil servants — even though the jobs some lost were not directly involved with any DEI programs.

Reminder that seven Democratic senators voted to confirm Kristi Noem and six Dem senators declined to vote either way.

She was confirmed, 59-34.

The good faith experiment is clearly over, and we need the Democratic senators who didn't stand against her nomination to be loud as hell right now.

Cannot express enough how much what happened at that meeting three weeks ago has changed things on the ground.

Courthouse arrests started within days, then check-in arrests. Worksite raids, once rare, began happening daily. Detention has skyrocketed over capacity. People are going missing.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

RFK Jr will be testifying before Congress.

I am interested in what experts and others think would be the best way to leverage this time and opportunity for the public good.

If you were behind the dais for this hearing, what would you do? What do you want to see asked?

The phrase "63% want due process" is a chilling indictment of the American citizenry, actually.
Wow. New CBS poll finds majority (55%) supports the *general goal* of deportations, but a bigger majority (56%) dislikes how Trump is carrying them out. And 63% want due process.

Again, we need a better discourse around public opinion on immigration, as I've argued:

Also, apropos of nothing in particular, if anyone tries to tell you that the protests in LA are a distraction from the budget bill, kindly remind them that the bill will MASSIVELY expand ICE’s budget, so the two things are very much related.

what people seem to believe is that there is a large number of criminal, layabout immigrants who can be easily found and deported. they support doing so snd are dismayed by the deportation of otherwise law abiding people. the problem is that the criminal group is imaginary!

These numbers are incredibly soft. We should be screaming a pro immigration message.
