Just remembering the time four of us, all in our 60s, started the evening’s conversation with an earnest discussion of how we don’t feel 60, don’t act 60, and are buggered if we’re going to be like all *those* old people, before discussing dental hygiene and strengthening exercises for 90 minutes.

This bronze pin with amber and glass beads was found on the edge of the Uechter Moor,a bog in Lower Saxony.
Elaborate jewellery was often deposited in lakes or bogs as an offering to the gods in the Iron Age.
The pin dates to the 6th-4th centuryBC.

'They hold hands, they embrace, they kiss': The woman who changed our view of chimps - and human beings
In 1960, Jane Goodall began her groundbreaking field study by living among chimpanzees in Tanzania. In 1986, she told the BBC how similar chimps and humans really are.

Can't go down to the East of England without a visit to Bury St Edmunds. Just love this place, especially the Abbey ruins and gothic graveyard.

St Andrews church in Isleham is also a beautiful building. Built in the 14 century. Major transformation in the 15 century by Crystofer Peyton. In 1863 the West Tower was rebuilt after a total collapse. Many tombs inside of local diginatries and their wives, including
the Peytons and Bernards.

Lovely holiday in Ely, Cambridgeshire a couple of weeks ago. In the village of Isleham there's an ancient priory that had been converted to a barn. Founded in the late 11th century by Alan Fergant, Count of Brittany. Given to the monastery of St Jacut based in Brittany. 1440 seized by the Crown.

Gardens gone all overgrown and blousey at the moment. Mainly due to rain and sun but also due to me falling over and fracturing my humerus 😬☹️ so no pruning, weeding or general tidying for now.
