Can't go down to the East of England without a visit to Bury St Edmunds. Just love this place, especially the Abbey ruins and gothic graveyard.

St Andrews church in Isleham is also a beautiful building. Built in the 14 century. Major transformation in the 15 century by Crystofer Peyton. In 1863 the West Tower was rebuilt after a total collapse. Many tombs inside of local diginatries and their wives, including
the Peytons and Bernards.

Gardens gone all overgrown and blousey at the moment. Mainly due to rain and sun but also due to me falling over and fracturing my humerus 😬☹️ so no pruning, weeding or general tidying for now.

It's this little lady's birthday today. My maternal grandmother. Born in 1900, Mary Ellen would have seen so many changes in her lifetime. Not least the change in fashions, attitudes and so many new inventions.
