Winter is coming. Getting cold on the canal.
Excellent piece. Europe is losing time while still deluding itself over Trump not actually being on Putins side.
Just sent out this free piece. When the stories of the 28-point plan were first written, too many people went into overdrive to try and make excuses for Trump (He was not informed! He was not involved!). open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

Someone really needs to explain the Striesand Effect to the BBC. And also tell them to stop being so pathetic.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

We knew the UK press wouldn't understand or properly cover this story, so we did. Thank you for the support!

Can anyone explain why Farage gets wall-to-wall news coverage for announcing policies that he may or may not do in four years time, but when his long-term colleague & Brexit partner is jailed for spouting EXACTLY the same pro-Kremlin propaganda as him....

I missed this, from a year ago, but the extreme-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) uses not just clear Nazi aesthetics in its propaganda but also a clear Nazi salute.

By the way, these are the German friends of Trump and the GOP.

I agree with much of what @jonathanfreedland.bsky.social says, but I’m a little befuddled by the persistence in the UK of the perception that a customs union is somehow an easier, smaller step than joining the single market for goods. Quite the opposite I’d say,
