In #JapaneseFolklore there is a #yokai known as tenome, which means 'eyes on hands.' It takes the form of an old man whose face has no eyes but who has an eye on each of his palms. In the dark of night they wander through graveyards and fields searching for victims.

These losers do this because their only shot at companionship is a hostage situation, so they spend all day harassing people into thinking a woman’s self worth should resemble their own.

If they tried being kind and not approaching every relationship as a transaction, they would be much happier

Recall what happened with the FBI when Nixon politicized it by appointing Patrick Gray director. The rank and file leaked, leaked and leaked up to the assistant director (aka Mark Felt/Deep Throat) level. They destroyed Nixon. Trump is inviting big trouble with Kash Patel.

Union won raves and an award at Sundance, but executives have been afraid to make it available. Now it is.

Oh, hey, another example of Elon Musk being a fucking asshole.

Silicon Valley's Push Into Transportation Has Been a Miserable Failure
The titans of tech brought plenty of disruption to our broken transportation system but delivered little in the way of innovation.

It’s true, it does help you think about your work better. Also keep a google doc of your descriptions it makes life much easier
Dutifully making alt text for every picture genuinely made me a better descriptive writer. Not only is it inclusive, I can't recommend it enough for dumbass cartoon people like me who otherwise couldn't be bothered to practice their writing.

one of the most serious problems with protests in the united states is that the people most invested in protesting also think that the purpose of a protest is to anonymously win a street fight with the police
ironically the "black block" types are significantly less effective as protestors because the military is going to be more willing to fight militant anarchists than nice grandmas

Reasons to worry about your neighbors’ cybersecurity: “‘you have an attacker that’s extremely far away and essentially broke into other organizations in the US in physical proximity to the intended target, then pivoted over Wi-Fi to get into the target network across the street,’ says Adair.”
Russian spies—likely Russia's GRU intelligence agency—used a new trick to hack a victim in Washington, DC: They remotely infected another network in a building across the street, hijacked a laptop there, then breached the target organization via its Wifi. www.wired.com/story/russia...
Russian Spies Jumped From One Network to Another Via Wi-Fi in an Unprecedented Hack
In a first, Russia's APT28 hacking group appears to have remotely breached the Wi-Fi of an espionage target by hijacking a laptop in another building across the street.

You can also check consumer sustainable seafood guides. In the US, the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch is a comprehensive and rigorous guide.

It'll tell you if a seafood product is green (sustainable,) yellow (not great but not a huge problem) or red (order the chicken)

Yet again I am begging you to either get your measles titers done or if you are a ye old (say older than 35+ and cannot be arsed) maybe just say YOLO and get a measles vaxx. Also if you can't remember when you got a tetanus shot get TDAP (which protects against pertussis which is also coming back)
Trump advisers are reported to be debating whether FL's surgeon general Joseph Ladapo, who, among other things, failed to appropriately address a measles outbreak and suggested Covid boosters are dangerous, "should be CDC director, surgeon general or Kennedy’s assistant secretary for health."
Some very interesting names in this @politico.com report on possible Trump admin health picks:
* The Means siblings in senior roles (Casey potential Surgeon Gen, Calley in a top deputy role -- but neither at FDA)
* CDC, NIH possibles
