I’ve been vaguely bugged by the “it’s hard being a man these days” discourse since it was last big in the 90s (see: Stiffed: The Betrayal of the American Man; Fight Club) and this says why so well

Yes, limit car speeds like we do for ebikes!!!! This War on Cars podcast episode talked about about how in the 1920s the car industry defeated a popular proposal to mechanically limit how fast cars could go. That could have saved millions of lives by now podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Worked in legal organizing for the last few years, and I never would have thought a movement of lawyers was possible until I had the displeasure of doing this job under Trump 2.0. Guess what, we don't have to accept a Supreme Court that allows Trump to crown himself king! We can demand court reform to protect democracy from the courts. @mollycoleman.bsky.social and I wrote about our recent report for @peoplesparity.bsky.social for @ballsandstrikes.org

Trump's judicial nominees refused to say that Biden won the 2020 election or that a violent mob attacked the Capitol on January 6. And several Senate Ds voted for these people to become federal judges. Not great!

Streateries are one of the few good things that came out of the pandemic, but sure let’s kill vibrant street scenes so a couple of people have easier street parking
"If streateries are a pandemic relic, then they’re a monument to a moment when we correctly ordered our local politics around building community and creating a built environment that fosters maximum public benefit.

"We would be wise to re-commit ourselves."

Our latest opinion piece:
Opinion: D.C.'s new streatery rules are a costly miscalculation
The city's streatery guidelines are punishing small businesses and vibrant neighborhoods. We need a permanent solution to keep these staples of the city’s dining scene.
