The bus bunching of the G Line on First Hill is so bad sometimes that I just saw three come in the span of 60 seconds. Lucky me though because I caught the third.

Paul has been talking about the tax loophole that Seattle country clubs have been enjoying for a while now but WOW I did not know how big

This is Broadmoor Golf Club. It's a gated right-wing enclave for the rich in Seattle. The golf course is 7 parcels, 122.2 acres. It's assessed at just $76k/ACRE!

I want to love the Madison G-line RapidRide so much but it is still so unreliable. I just had a driver at the Boylston stop drive past me, walking into the center stop, to…get to a red light. Worse: it was four minutes early.

"Katie Wilson, if nothing else, has had an audacious rise from a little-known progressive activist..."

"Little-known" only if you're not paying close attention to City Hall. Wilson has been at or near the center of almost every major policy battle in the city for the last 10 years.
It's starting to look like a socialist is going to Seattle City Hall

I sure wish the RapidRide G actually adhered to its promised reliance. @seattledot.bsky.social three scheduled busses didn’t show up eastbound at Madison and Boylston. I could’ve driven to my destination faster.

Mayor Bruce Harrell considers it scandalous and hypocritical that Katie Wilson's parents help her pay for child care in Seattle. When he was asked about one of his own kids during his first campaign, he said his parenting choices were no one's business. www.seattleweekly.com/news/a-city-...

Listening to Bruce Harrell on the campaign trail, you'd never know that traffic fatalities in Seattle have actually increased during his term as whole and that last year was the deadliest year on city roads in decades.
Bruce Harrell: "When...I won the job, we still lived in a city by which cars are fighting with bikes and bikes are perhaps competing with transit, and people looked at the different forms of transportation and they didn't talk to each other very well."

With 22 full time employees devoted to graffiti abatement in Bruce Harrell's 2026 budget, that team would officially be twice as large as SDOT's Vision Zero team (11 people).

Bruce Harrell likes to bluster about standing up to Trump

But behind the scenes, SPD is collaborating with ICE, and Harrell’s trying to hide it until after the election

ICE wants data? No prob, that will take 4 days

Journalist question about data sent to ICE? Sorry, best we can do is 4 months

Question about Harrell hiring Adrian Diaz and allegations that he runs a "boys' club." He says no mayor in history has had to terminate a police chief but him and that he didn't hire Diaz, he was "handed to" him. In fact, Harrell encouraged Diaz to apply and hired him.

The ICE recruitment ad that’s running non stop during NFL games is really disgusting. I’d say the networks should be ashamed of themselves but we know they have no shame.

I can't tell if it's because I'm too NYC focused but does it feel like the news cycle spent more time crashing out on the fact that NYC picked a brown Muslim dude as is primary candidate then it did on a right wing extremist who shot 2 Minnesota legislators killing one, her husband and dog?

@typewriteralley.bsky.social how do we get SDOT to remove the old and now wrong bike light that turns green signaling for cyclists (really: tourist on scooters) to enter the wrong way down the Pike Street uphill bike lane at Melrose/Minor? I’ve emailed every city alias I could and get zero replies.

1000% correct. If this is what they're doing to a US Senator and a City Comptroller in front of TV cameras...
"It's bullshit," Gov. Hochul says of the arrest of NYC Comptroller Brad Lander by ICE. She says she will call him when he's out of detention. "But what about all the people who don't have that high profile position?"

The thing about bicycle weekends on Lake Washington Boulevard is that they are a beloved institution that has near unanimous support, but instead of investing real money to make them safe and activated, Bruce Harrell has instead spent all of the money on outreach to appease ~8 highway advocates.

This is unacceptable. We can do better.
You may remember: this is the same intersection, immediately adjacent to the Mt Baker kids swim beach, where a car careened off the road and exploded into the beach.

SDOT proposed adding stop signs here to help calm traffic, but the Mayor’s office killed the idea because car advocates complained.
Personally I think our Park Boulevards should not be designed allow cars to speed so fast they careen off them into popular children swim beaches, exploding into a burnt out husk, and polluting the water 🤷🏼‍♂️
