This is exactly where I'm at.
The specific ask is healthcare, but at root the principle is that if they need democratic votes, republicans don’t get to tell them to go fuck themselves and then blame them for the results. And at root *that* is about the republicans’ autocratic tendencies.

If/when Dems regain control of Congress, the path is clear. No clerks. No building. No shadow docket. Nothing, until the Wizards In Robes stop ignoring the law, data, history, precedent, & the plain meaning of words in the Constitution. And there will be 25, with 9 chosen by lottery for any case.

This thread is 1000% correct.
The basic fallacy in chasing votes by being "tough on immigration" is that the modal American's position on the issue is "Deport the Bad ones and keep the Good ones," and they alone know who is which, and that simply does not translate into workable policy. So this kind of gestapo stuff (1/2)
