Turns out people still actually link climate change to stuff happening in their actual lives and care about action being taken on it, despite the now widespread idea that we need to stop mentioning it to be successful

Here’s something so blatantly obvious that it seems stupid to even have to say it out loud.

And yet apparently it’s necessary to say in Trump’s USA.

Filming a legal arrest, let alone the many illegal and anonymous arrests performed by ICE, is NOT DOMESTIC TERRORISM.

Claiming it is, is fascist.
If ICE can threaten arrest for filming, then journalists, watchdogs, and protesters can all be silenced the same way. You don’t have freedom of the press if recording police is treated as terrorism.  #holdfast

The Government Unconstitutionally Labels ICE Observers as Domestic Terrorists
A free country must have an absolute wall of protection for those who record government actions.

The RSF militia, backed by the United Arab Emirates, has slaughtered countless civilians in Sudan.

The US keeps selling arms to the UAE despite their support for these crimes. And Trump only cares about cutting deals with the Emiratis.

Enough. No more weapons for war crimes.

"Even worse, when you Google one of these slop-squatted package names, you’ll often get an AI-generated summary from Google itself confidently praising the package, saying it’s useful, stable, well-maintained. But it’s just parroting the package’s own README, no skepticism, no context."

1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but
2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but
3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So
4. Now the LLM code points to malware.
LLMs hallucinating nonexistent software packages with plausible names leads to a new malware vulnerability: "slopsquatting."
LLMs can't stop making up software dependencies and sabotaging everything

“Cobots” are framed as collaborators, not replacements—but in practice, automation and AI will reorganize workers around machines, argue professors Sarah E. Fox and Samantha Shorey. This is augmentation-washing: empowerment language that conceals less agency and intensified demands for labor.
How Augmentation-Washing Hides Labor Automation | TechPolicy.Press
Sarah E. Fox and Samantha Shorey discuss how corporate “cobots” reduce control and intensify demands—and what policy can do to protect worker agency.

Auschwitz was established in April 1940, 7 months after the start of WW2. It was the war that made it possible for the Nazis to carry out mass extermination.

Trump needs a war. A war in Venezuela will allow Trump to claim the extraordinary powers a wartime president has.

the idea that invading venezuela would somehow be a distraction from the epstein files sort of falls apart when you realize invading venezuela may in fact be less popular than trump's handling of the epstein files.
