To be absolutely clear on this, one of our volunteers received a letter from a cabinet minister acknowledging the contents of the Discord leaks, including comments talking about serious abuse. The government knows exactly who they are including in these consultations.
Trans Safety Network are extremely concerned that DHSC are continuing to solicit input on trans healthcare from Bayswater and other anti trans groups after a reply to our previous concerns stated they would not work with groups who promote harmful practices or discriminatory views

sexual violence is THE patriarchal technology of oppression. wherever there is any kind of oppression--colonialism, genocide, capitalism, the state, the police--there is sexual violence as its frontline operative mechanism. the child is THE archetypal object of legitimate disciplinary violence.

Anti-fascistic software is made possible by pro-labor licensing.

I've been trying to write this piece for years. Every time I get started I'm just overwhelmed with paralyzing visions of the FOSS commentariat accusing me of WrongThink.

But I'm tired and we urgently need to get our shit together.

"pure objectification" is right. it's the kind of product that could only have been dreamed up by someone for whom the *interiority* of others, even the ones they ostensibly love, is a non-factor.

Mozilla is so funny because basically their market is "look some people want a browser that's not Safari or Chrome" and that's a market with very clear and specific desires in the tech products they wish to consume and they keep fucking it up like every six months
Mozilla deployed an AI bot that overwrote 20 years of volunteer Japanese translations, without consultation. JP community leader resigned, and the offer from Mozilla is to "hop on a quick call to understand why they're struggling". FFS.

Forstater judgement and its inevitable effects

NEW: Common Crawl, the massive archiver of the web, has gotten cozy with AI companies and is providing paywalled articles for training data. They’re also lying to publishers who have asked for material to be removed. “The robots are people too,” CC’s exec director told us when we asked about this.

My son is on blockers legally from before the ban and we did everything they told us to do and now we are being threatened with social services if we don't allow them to "safely withdraw" medication. They admit that the impact will be "stark" for our kids but they are going to do it anyway.
"Laura fears all will be lost if ICB Sussex forces her child off the medication.

If ICB Sussex get their own way in a matter of weeks and they force detransition, Olive may well take her life."

bittersweet seeing parts of the lethargic british press sluggishly get around to wondering if US far-right religious think tanks are working to influence british politics. they are, yes! it is not secret! do your jobs better!

If France's provision is so good why are multiple people forced to travel to Spain/Netherlands for their abortions every single week!!

(And why are French health services not permitted to fund at least the ~€1000 clinic fees, if they don't provide the required care >16w themselves)
In Europe, 15 countries have taken steps forward since 2021, but only 5 EU countries have fully decriminalised abortion.
Sweden, France, and the Netherlands rank best in the EU for abortion rights, while Malta and Poland remain at the bottom.
What is the state of abortion rights across the EU?
Despite 15 countries having taken steps forward since 2021, only five EU countries have fully decriminalised abortion. #EuropeInMotion
