Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

Look, the Mamdani thing is very funny, but it's not good that everyone in every country knows you can get the US President to be nice to you if you give him gifts and say nice things to him in person.

While it still seems more and more like the modern internet is a huge mistake, occasionally we get reminders about good internet, like a gmail-like browser of the released Epstein emails. jmail.world

This is a great point and raises something we should always remember: all movies are products of their age in ways we don’t always understand. Early 2020s cinema will be marked by COVID lockdowns and carry the echo of mass death even if we can’t easily see how.
For reasons I needed to watch Its a Wonderful Life again last night.

Will do a thread closer to Christmas about it, but next time you watch it, remember this:

Both Capra and Stewart had just come back from WW2. Consider every directing, script and acting decision with that context in mind.

A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day, the CIA determined that Mohammed Bin Salman ordered the killing of @washingtonpost.com journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I hired and worked with Jamal for a year.

Regular reminder for folks reporting on federal courts that there are two different Judges Ho (Dale / SDNY, James / 5th Cir), with two different judicial philosophies. Remember it this way:

When your Judge Ho is Dale, your claims might not fail.
When your Judge Ho is Jim, your chances are grim.
Former mayoral aide Mohamed Bahi just got 3 years' probation for organizing straw donations for Eric Adams

Judge Ho called the tossed corruption case against the mayor the “elephant in the room”

“It is hard to escape the impression that Mr. Bahi is left here holding the bag”

In the Civil War 2.0, pro-slavery forces briefly besieged the city of Chicago, in Illinois, before being routed by irregular civilians.
Greg Bovino is leading a rebel cavalry terrorizing America—and it's important to recognize that it's in retreat. While the trauma and terror Bovino’s raiders instill is real and damaging, it’s remarkable to note how ineffective the force has turned out to be. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/trump-bord...
