If the amount of fedposting going on on Instagram isn't a clear indication of rapid radicalization of normies against ICE, dunno what is really. The algorithm over there doesn't appear to yet be suppressing ICE related content much either (for us, anyway). TikTok, OTOH, has clamped down hard

It’s time—it was time, years and years ago—to stop quoting the police for their account of events, esp those involving them, immediately after said event.

“ICE officers shot a man. ICE provided a comment, but will refrain from reporting it until we have more information and confirmation.”

They’re saying the quiet part out loud and still our leaders do fuck all about it
Today I spoke with Greg Bovino, a top U.S. Border Patrol chief, as he led dozens of feds in military gear through downtown Chicago.

He said they were arresting folks based on “how they look.”

“How do they look compared to, say, you?” he said, referring to me.

As someone working in communications on immigrant advocacy in Chicago, the current discourse on essentially every social platform re: ICE is virtually unintelligible, is confusing everyone, and scaring the shit out of a lot of people.

All these platforms need moderators to filter out the trash.

The mayor is 100% right on this. This is a lazy, ineffectual, and legally dubious policy that criminalizes our youth and does nothing for public safety.

The council should vote this down.
A measure that would allow CPD officials to preemptively impose a curfew anywhere in the city and begin enforcing it with just 30 minutes is a “lazy” and “sloppy” attempt to stop large teen gatherings that won’t work, Mayor Brandon Johnson said Tuesday.

SCOOP — ICE employees received an email yesterday telling them the agency's warrantless arrest policy had been rescinded. It's likely part of the Trump administration's efforts to further loosen enforcement restrictions to meet the new quota of 3,000 immigration arrests per day.

My report:
