If the symbolism was any heavier, it would pull the rest of reality into it like a neutron star
LA Times - Several communities in Los Angeles County have called off or postponed their previously scheduled Independence Day and July events, citing resident safety amid ongoing immigration enforcement raids.

Trump forces the U. of Virginia president to resign rather than endanger UVa’s funding.
The New York Times weakly describes it as “Trump’s success in harnessing the investigative powers of the federal government to accomplish his administration’s policy goals.”
I call it “fascist strong-arming.”

If so, it is time to start crafting some cool-ass laws. What a time to be a state legislator or an AG in a blue state. The Supreme Court just said you no longer have a boss. It's the last day of school, Democratic state majorities and AGs! Time to abuse some power.

Zohran Mamdani’s plan to tax the rich is a 2% tax on income over $1 million.

If you make $1.1 million, you’d pay an extra $2,000.

Watching working class conservatives and politicians completely meltdown about this is wild.

ICE is monstrous. Where are the Congressional investigations? The press investigations? Who will hold them accountable?
June 26, 2025 at 10:48 PM
Every single time an attempted ICE kidnapping occurs we MUST rally around the victim, bully the perpetrators, and call 911 and MAKE THEM RESPOND. Wanna not be bastards? Wanna be one of the good guys? Show up and cuff the terrorists!
Having trouble getting past "responds to kidnapping call, discovers federal operation"
The LAPD is claiming that someone called 911 to report a kidnapping when masked up federal officers grabbed a man at 9th street. They are saying that is why they formed a perimeter to protect the raid from angry citizens

This is the best thing I have read in some time. It focuses the mind and heart.
A man stirs the pot. “It’s a metaphor,” he says.

The frog is sweating.

The frog is informed that this is due to a natural variation in temperature.

“He’s clearly boiling the frog,” say the other frogs.

All books about frogs have vanished from the library.

Let’s be real: this ain’t about “protecting life.” It’s about weaponizing poverty and race to strip away care, choice, and dignity from communities that dare to seek basic care in a system already built to fail them. (2/2)

Direct File is the kind of forthright, straightforward, unapologetic make-government-work-for-you kitchen table pitch that Dems who are looking for national analogues to Mamdani's winning platform should be grasping with both hands.
80-90% of polled voters say Direct File is a good thing. It is quite literally one of the most popular government programs in America.

If Democrats cared more about winning than making their donors happy, they could win 8-10 House seats next year just with ads showing off this tweet.
