Other countries have social safety nets. The US has women. Women whose paid and unpaid labor are toggled up or down depending on the whims of the men who engineered and profiteered our DIY society.
Roughly half a million women in the US exited the workforce in 2025, and 42% of those who voluntarily left cited their caregiving responsibilities as the main reason, according to a recent survey from Catalyst.

42% of women are leaving the workforce over lack of caregiver support
In a tight employment market, employers that offer less flexibility risk losing working caregivers, according to a Catalyst report.

They want to make us stop caring about the kids they're harming. Because they know that if we stop caring about what they do to kids, they'll be able to get away with doing whatever they want to adults.
They want to make protecting children dangerous, treat those who try to do it as criminals.

SHUT IT THE FUCK DOWN THEN!!!!
The arrests of Don Lemon and Georgia Fort underscore the gravity of this moment. This has never happened before in our history. We shouldn't pretend it's normal.

More reason for us to hold the line and demand a DHS budget that stops funding lawlessness.

I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.

But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

ICE patrolling around Falwell Hall and Dinkytown this week

Nothing has changed.
I would beseech the national media to stop writing sentences like one I just read that said basically "ICE's time in Minnesota is almost up." That is NOT an established fact. Please do not turn away. Please check the readily available information from people on the ground and local journalists.
From everything I’m hearing and reading, nothing in the ground in the Twin Cities has meaningfully changed.

This is the escalation cycle I've been talking about for months, one Homan can't pretend DHS is not part of.

DHS adopts aggressive tactics and arrest quotas, the community responds angrily, agents mask up and DHS deploys more, the response gets bigger/angrier, agents get more aggressive, etc...
CNN: How did we get to a place where we had Bovino having Border Patrol agents stopping citizens in interior of the country, asking them ID, creating fear? Who made the decisions to allow this kind of operation to proceed?

He died last week. ICE killed Wael.

Both citizens.

It isn't just immigrants, brown folks, Black folks, pro Palestinian activists and Muslims.

If this doesn't wake up "white moderates" and privileged centrists, then...all I can say is good luck.

ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city.

If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.

Where is our national press? The government has been shooting at and harassing clergy for months. This used to be a red line. The reality is their red line moved, not yours. They’re cowards.
ICE attacked an observer after they tailed a group of clergy on a spiritual pilgrimage.

Our digital producer @sam.vp just so happened to be with the clergy on their journey. He spoke with the observer who was attacked and others who witnessed the assault.

I understand the impulse to distance yourself from American history. I do. But the atrocities are the actual normal for many communities. And until we confront them as part of a baseline societal flaw and address why they keep happening, they will not stop. They will just continue to shift targets
Those atrocities were un-American, too. Why do the evil-doers get to decide what the fundamental American values are? Let's define them ourselves.
I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow
