Me making suggestions for new bluesky features
Listening to Al Stewart present history as a storyteller, interlacing real occurrences with emotional resonances, just strengthens my belief that We Didn't Start The Fire is low effort trash

I eat at this table. I’d rather Billy not sit on it. So we’ve reached a compromise: I’ll eat off a plate on my lap and he’ll sit wherever the fuck he wants. Cats always turn me into the Chuck Schumer of my own apartment.

Write that weird little book, make that weird little painting. It was given to you for a reason and someone else needs to see it and if you don’t do it no one will

The chatter and incomplete garbage takes on Let It Be give it the feel of a behind-the-scenes look, which I think was the intention; but that makes the album a documentary curiosity rather than a proper compilation of songs. It depends on what you’re looking for and I would prefer the latter
Let It Be was the closest we had to Anthology outtakes until Anthology was released

Fast and Furious but Star Wars, and I'm serious
hoping this upcoming star wars: starfighter movie is just top gun but star wars
ironically what makes star wars stuff best is when it is 'something else, but also star wars'

e.g. Andor, a British political thriller but also Star Wars
the Mandalorian, an episode-of-the-week Western but also Star Wars (when it was good)

what is the best 80s/90s action movie that star wars could do a remake of, and why is it Con Air

Which is a subset of “accepting that a lot of people will never like you (and will let you know about it).” It’s tempting to think “politician” would be a good career for a People Pleaser but it’s the opposite. There will be many people you will never please and that will be torment
I would hate a lot of things about being a politician, from the constant socializing to having to beg people for money, but I think the thing I would hate the most would be people poring over every flaw in every unflattering picture someone took of me

"The Bechdel test" is to my mind very much like "Godwin's Law": these were general observations about pernicious habits in our society that people somehow interpreted as being moral laws that must be followed to the letter.

Sometimes a book is like a trust fall.

Some people want to be carefully lowered to the ground.

Some of us enjoy the thrill of a bit of free fall.

Nobody likes being dropped.
