This question makes me realize we are already here.

The only thing constraining our government currently is a thin and waning desire to look “constitutional”

As soon as they dispense with that pretense, it’s over
If Putin were president of America, would anyone notice the difference?

The hardest lesson to learn when you are recovering from depression is that your isolation is just making you worse. Go be with friends that uplift you and love you. It works wonders.

Wild how many gains we’ve gotten without a hint of the system being “perfect”

And now we are risking the loss of those gains for absolutely, positively, no goddamn reason
doing patchwork liberalism in a handful of countries for 75 years drove up human life expectancy by two and a half fold and income by twenty fold but then we let people read their neighbors thoughts online and now that’s over

A turning point would truly happen in the private sector if a sustained economic boycott could be coordinated
If I consistently boycotted every business run by arseholes, I’d have to spend my time hanging out at Timpson and never going online

I’m completely fine with bankrupting Tesla (far more than I am torching individual Teslas), but I also think “Tesla in Distressla” is an inspired title

none of the George Foreman obituaries have had the gumption to end with ‘he is survived by his sons, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, and George Foreman’

Huh, interesting...

I mean, yes. But yes for every system. We make it all up.

Social systems are technology we create, not God-given answers.

If capitalism is bad, okay…but every social system thus far has been…why exactly would the next one be problem-free?

That’s not the implication here, but question worth asking
once you actually internalize that society is fake and we just made everything up and none of this is real other than the "realness" people have placed upon it, it's insane that anyone thought any of this would work in the first place
