i only knew of a handful of nazis in my town growing up and two of them got that way from prison, one because he hated his adoptive jewish parents (who he was misdirecting his anger at his birth parents towards), and only one through a “nazi phase” he arrived at through the industrial music scene
i actually don’t think the “average” american millennial man had a nazi phase. it’s not some boys will be boys shit. this makes me side eye you and your friend group, sounds like a personal problem

If we understand late 19th century antisemitism not merely as a hatred of Jews qua Jews, but a specific worldview in which Jews stand for transnational ideologies threatening the hard borders of the nation-state, we can see why Jewish nationalists had to reinvent antisemitism from first principles.
I recall the lads agreed: even a trace, a suspicion of racism in public life was utterly unacceptable and it all had to be annihilated to the subsoil with nuclear weapons. Also, here’s a BBC and Times pundit doing more fash crank racism in one tweet than most humans will do in their entire lives.
