tech lords like Altman pretty clearly don’t think most other people really “exist” in any meaningful way - certainly not in any way that requires them to consider anyone else’s subjective experience. They see most humans as a bunch of NPCs in a video game where the currency is money and attention
At some point it has to become clear that this tech exists is to create a more toxic society and enrich its owners. These uses are not aberrations but rather the entire purpose.

I will say, as an industry professional with a vested interest in games pricing keeping up with inflation and blah blah blah, but I've been holding off buying games for my Switch 2 because man $80 is a bitter pill. Fully understanding the problem but still $80 man? I'll just work on the backlog...
