this is so on-the-nose it hurts; way too many people refuse to stop & recognize that they are continuing to do the GOP's work for them. the same ones who demanded for weeks that we get a shutdown are now attacking Democratic leaders for doing exactly what they asked.
A reminder that a shutdown that everyone demanded is about to start at midnight and right wingers have decided to message to win it, whereas the left has decided to continue talking about Chuck SChumer rather than right wingers.

For a site that's supposedly so liberal, there are a lot of people here who clearly don't like the way other people live
back on the twitter days a lot of the people who moved here did posts bragging about how they never would become conservative as they aged. this prediction has borne out poorly. half of the posts here are literally complaints about why home economics is not taught in schools anymore

Everyone hates Schumer and Jeffries but not everyone gets to vote against them
Right that's my point. People could have been mad at him for running while sick and depriving them of representation for a year, but seemingly weren't. Dems all love their Rep even while telling pollsters they think the party is weak.

NYC elections are perfectly designed to drive this site crazy because the base of progressive support is the group most despised here, middle to upper middle class white collar professionals while the base of centrist support comes from black and latino neighborhoods. It's all about patronage.
