Today at the protest in San Francisco, I saw so much of what makes this city magnificent: people of all ages & backgrounds who are determined & outraged, but also finding joy & purpose in safeguarding our collective rights & values.
I’m beginning to hope this feeling will grow on people.

Wow. The county is charging the Ilhan Omar attacker even though the feds are also doing that, because they don't trust Trump to not pardon the guy.
This was a disturbing assault on @repilhan.bsky.social, who is frequently the target of vilifying language by fellow elected officials and members of the public.

Mr. Kazmierczak has been charged with one felony count of terroristic threats and one count of fifth-degree assault.

Reminder: There's no such thing as a "moderate" ideology. There exists no set of ideas upon which moderates agree. That's why efforts to create centrist parties always fail.

A "moderate" Dem is one who embraces Republican policies. The real question: What are those policies?

SF should declare a state of emergency and ban nonpayment evictions for any period of enhanced ICE activity, similar to what we did in the covid pandemic that saved thousands from eviction.

People who are understandably afraid to go to work because of Trump’s gestapo should not lose their homes.

An extraordinary document. Read it.

“Attached to this order is an appendix that identifies 96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases. … ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

Folks have puzzled on why they can't get traction on social justice issues for a long time believing it's bc they didn't argue it right or have the right info. Federal agents have executed two people on broad daylight on the streets and these politicians seemingly can't do anything. It's revealing.

If the Democrats approve the unprecedented DHS and ICE funding package (3x 2024’s already record budget!) based on these meaningless and, in any event, unenforceable “reforms,” it will be among the greatest moral betrayals and strategic failures of the modern era.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

The regime-affiliated oligarchs who bought up Twitter, the Washington Post, CBS, and TikTok didn't do so to turn a profit.

They are taking control of the media to limit the public's ability to resist authoritarianism and oligarchy. If they run the outlets into the ground, that's fine.

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE
