Another chilling aspect... The Tories simply passed a law declaring Rwanda "safe".

Do we really trust that this govt or the next won't resort to similar tactics if this finds them politically convenient?

Decades after the Heysel and Hillsborough disasters, can politicians please not second-guess expert safety assessments for football stadiums.

Thank you.

Reform is a magnet for racists without a home, a bin for failed Tory MPs without a future, a crèche for brainwashed children with no clue about anything, and a stage for morons who want to dress up in glittery flags, shouting.

It is anything but a serious government in waiting.

I'm reading the report behind these headlines about glyphosate and it may be the most scientifically illiterate thing I've come across (although it's a close thing with the recent MAHA report). 1/n

That is not what the visa application process looks like

Agreed. Read the whole thread
Term 2 Trump foreign policy - from tariffs to NATO to soft power to China and Russia - is an epic mess. One reason seems to be that the administration is operating with two conflicting, equally flawed, views of the world and the US's place in it. 🧵

We need to dispel some rumors. There is ZERO fentanyl trafficking on both of our HIMI islands. In fact, while our Gentoo penguins can travel hundreds of miles to bring partners their favorite pebble, they are incapable and unwilling of carrying even an ounce of illicit drugs.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

I think liberals in the West need to understand that they have not stumbled across any kind of contradiction or hypocrisy in the Global far right. When they said “people have a right to free speech” they simply never saw racialised people as people to begin with 🧵
People in the USA & beyond are being punished, fired, defunded, deported, disciplined & silenced by Trump’s administration for their opinions & beliefs. In unprecedented numbers. I thought the ‘anti-woke’ warriors really hated this stuff? They all seem to have disappeared…

Only 3 weeks ago I was in Ukraine talking to the bravest of the brave. All of them knew this spelled the end of their freedom. Europe must do everything it can, but that isn’t actually going to be enough. Trump ends this war on day one because his side (Russia, not the USA) now knows they’ve won.

We need to bury one of our favorite old fallacies. Doing more for Europe is not anti-American. It can even be an act of Atlanticism. We need to carry our part of the burden. By global standards, Europe is rich, and Europe is free. It is for us to ensure that it stays that way.
