Texas. Flash Flood Alley. An area prone to flooding. Top official: we do not have a warning system. “However, when asked about how people were notified in Kerr County so that they could get to safety, Judge Rob Kelly, the county’s chief elected official, said: “We do not have a warning system.”
Flash floods like the one that swept through Texas are the nation's top storm-related killer
According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood is flooding that begins within six hours, and often in as little as three hours.

The Smart People said "Abolish ICE" was too radical. Then ICE kidnapped students, sent innocent people to a mega prison, broke into a car to take a mom from her daughter, and tried questioning elementary kids while lying that they had parents permission.

Ask yourself: which part is more "radical"?

That’s supposed to be permitted in a democracy.

The Trump regime is working to deter dissent.

Anyone who goes against Trump could end up on a target list.

This is having a chilling effect on five major pillars of society — universities, science, the media, the law, and the arts.

ProPublica spoke to employees across the Forest Service to learn how sweeping personnel changes are affecting the agency’s ability to function.

“It’s all really muddled in chaos, which is sort of the point,” one employee said.

The White House and DOGE have sought to eliminate thousands of jobs from the Forest Service. The wildland firefighting force is one of many targets within the agency.
