This should be instructive. The democratic tent does not have room in it for communists, it does not have room in it for socialists, they will do everything they can to defeat you if you are even the meanest, behindhand reformist demsoc, but if you're a nazi they will welcome you with open arms.

Also many of the so called NO votes were not no votes. They supported the move to reopen and are glad to have those who supported cloture do so. Now they can make their little posts on social media and credulous voters will postback: 'thanks to my Senator for standing up.' Pure WWF.
It's just that they already voted to move this forward in the only vote that mattered. Today's vote only needs 50 so the Dems can now vote no and pretend that they didn't advance it when they already did.

I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

Want to note that this isn't the first time those eight Democratic Senators have voted yea on fascist legislation or nominee. This is why 'vote blue no matter who' is meaningless. If you can't stand up to the fascists in your own party, then you have no chance against the ones in power.
