Could prob accept some pretty draconian small boat policies if there was a genuine safe route policy alongside it. So far we have no details at all.

As an aside the gold locket that they had to raise millions for, that could of gone to actual projects, If found in Finland the finder would have received aprox 42 thousand euros (current metal content price + 20%) and mainly been overjoyed at finding it.

"I've never sold a single item & I've found thousands of coins."

'he keeps his finds carefully arranged in a display cabinet at his home.'

...that's just one #detectorist.

Multiply that by perhaps 40,000 people - that's an awful lot of artefacts.

One of the main defences of detecting I hear is that they discover things we wouldn't know about otherwise.

Stuff sitting on a shelf in somebody's house is lost to us. Stripping it of context strips or of meaning = It'd probably be better off left in the ground.

In 2023, 173 people in Surrey reported finds to the PAS, equal to 5.7% of the membership of this club + I'm sure there's plenty of other detectorists in Surrey, showing once again that despite claims to the contrary, only a tiny minority of detectorists report any finds to the PAS #ancientbluesky
An onslaught on heritage: "Surrey Metal Detecting Club… membership has rocketed… to more than 3,000 in 2025."

"We're not in it for the treasure, we're history finders" says a man who's "found thousands of coins" and has a shelf at home "where it's all Roman - coins, brooches and stuff like that."

Just as the BLM movement showed us who is actually racist, and the MeToo movement showed us who is actually misogynist, the reaction to the Epstein Files is showing us who actually
thinks sex with minors isn’t that big of a deal.

We won’t forget.

I ENTIRELY understand why a party way to the left of Labour needs to exist.

I have NO IDEA why it needs to be Your Party, other than ego.

The Greens are RIGHT THERE. Corbyn will be 78 at the next election. And it's a shambles. Give up, lads.

This is insane!
There are many words that you can't draw a picture of.
Describing a picture is not understanding a text.
Ok, phonics and whole word have their issues too, I was in my 20s before I knew I pronounced quay incorrectly, but I still recognised the word its meaning, and didn't say pier.
