Buggers are meant to be insectivores, occasionally other small rodents or invertebrats. And also.... eat onions. Which is why the 'onions are good for repelling moles and other rodents' never worked.

Nah, not really, my mum was (lower) middle class and her dad left school at 16. My dad was working class similar age.
Difference is, my mum's granddads were a grocer and a locomotive engineer in Africa, and my dad's grandparents scrapped by.
I grew up working (council house) but am middle (PhD).
