So I was considering why I resonate more with Satisfactory over something like Minecraft and I think it's a combination of two things: restrictions and direction.

The restrictions force you to be creative with a limited toolset, and the direction gives you something to work on all the time.

Oh this has my attention. A creative-focused factory game with a nice low poly esthetic. It's closer to Shapez than Satisfactory, but it blends the two in several ways. It's only a demo and I've only played for a little bit, but seems neat!

Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.

Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.

The pandemic accelerated brain aging by ~5.5 months, even in uninfected people. This structural aging was distinct from cognitive decline, which was specifically linked to a SARS-CoV-2 infection. 🧪#MedSKy #COVID 🛟

Study of nearly 1,000 people showed that brain ageing was not linked to infection status, but cognitive decline was.

If you, like me, are an automation nerd looking for a really good distraction from ::gestures wildly::, I highly recommend buying Satisfactory on Steam. It’s on sale, a huge update was just released, and it’s somehow more addictive than Civ or Cities Skylines.

You’re welcome (or I’m sorry).

Huge news on Patreon! Because of the Apple v. Epic ruling, they are not only dropping the 30% Apple Store charge on the iOS app, they are also halting the move to subscription billing for all creators - which would have affected creators like me, who use a "per video" structure than monthly.
