So everyone's watching the 60 Minutes that was supposed to be banned and everyone who knows how PDFs work can unredact the Epstein files, it's like the Christmas spirit has irony poisoning this year

2025 has been a rough year. What's one piece of art that's brought you absolute joy despite everything?

One of my all-time favorite clips of Rob Reiner, from his Friars Club Roast in 2000, as he reads aloud Roger Ebert's infamous scathing review of his movie North. The man had an amazing sense of humor about himself. RIP.

I finished The Crown S1 about a week ago. Overall, it's good as long as it's focused on Churchill, or showing how Elizabeth deals with hew new responsibilities. Found the rest scattershot, and there's one plot point in the season finale I found deeply contrived (though Foy nearly sells it).
I've now watched The Crown up to S1E8. I have a fair number of problems with this show, but for whatever reason, I'm finding it easier to get into than other shows I've tried recently. It's very... watchable, if not a whole lot more than that.

Finding Pluribus half-intriguing, half-frustrating. Will elaborate more on my problems once I have a clearer idea of where the show's heading.

Maybe it's the crummy week I've been having, but I didn't love the new Pluribus. Not enough going on; too padded out; just felt aimless and repetitive. Enjoyed [REDACTED]'s vocal cameo, though.

Pluribus plays like a show almost totally made up of the scenes in BCS that observes the process of a character doing something unusual, as we try to piece together what it is and why they're doing it.

No greater observation I have about that here - just wanted to note that I love it.

The newest Pluribus was the best one since the pilot. Really enjoying how little idea we have of what will happen next.

here. this is it. absolute proof that you should stop criticizing yourself and your inability to make it as a writer.

this is from a Vanity Fair editor. there are absolutely no quality standards. you do not become a successful writer by writing well. sorry.
how dare you criticize this prose
