Splendid review in The Guardian of the Liz Truss Show, headlines as “hapless ravings from a cupboard”.

“The woman longs to become Donald Trump’s Lord Haw-Haw, or at least a version of Lord Haw-Haw who looked and sounded like a bucket of spanners had just dropped on his head.” 😂

In fact a massive thumbs up to anyone that bought a physical copy of anyone’s record this year for helping to keep the art of the album alive.

With many currently posting their 2025 Spotify Wrapped statistics on social media, and artists thanking their listeners for streaming their music, I’d like to take a moment to thank anyone and everyone that actually bought a PHYSICAL COPY of any of my records this year.

A stone-cold classic with something for everyone, whether it be the eerie shifting moods of the title track, the majestic soaring guitar of Cloudburst Flight, or the sinister hypnotic sequencer patterns of Thru Metamorphic Rocks. This and Tangram are my TD touchstones.
Tangerine Dream’s Force Majeure is pure cinematic momentum, epic builds, glowing analog tones, & melodies that feel like sunrise on another planet. Welcome to the TD machine!

#NowPlaying Emmett Elvin - Optimal Eternalist

A new release, every bit as quirky, fascinating and imaginative as his earlier albums. Highly recommended for fans of 'weird stuff'.

There's an episode in Blackadder 3 where Edmond uses made-up words to convince Samual Johnson that he's missed stuff from his dictionary. I have been using these same words in work meetings and reports for decades without ever being challenged on their authenticity.

This site lets you see what metro lines would look like if they were built somewhere else. If Norwich had the Tube, the Metropolitan line would terminate almost exactly in my village. That'd be handy. wbholland.github.io/trainspose/

This thread starts with “urologist waiting room” and doesn’t let up from there on… 🤣🤣🤣
I feel compelled to write a review thread 🧵 for The Liz Truss Show because in the madness of the content, other aspects - vital aspects - are being missed.

1. The Aesthetics

Unless they were aiming for "Harley Street urologist waiting room circa 1992" this interview area is just unacceptable. 1/

Someone who once worked for this guy told me he was at a party where everyone was in one way or another, economically dependent upon him. Under those circumstances you don't get much pushback for dumb statements. When they do encounter that pushback, they think its wokeness that must be destroyed.
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

I hate this kind of soulless profiteering and it’s everywhere now. This is not the same pleasure you get from finding a beautiful edition of a book you love; the contents mean nothing to these people, they only want to deal it on. They’re ruining the fun.
Just saw a rum cove in my local Oxfam bookshop scanning the barcodes of every single book, checking them on an online database. Anything valuable, he extracted into 3 massive bags, with plenty more empty bags on standby.

It may not be illegal; but I hope he gets visited by 3 ghosts…

This is another entertaining and hugely informative episode. Focussing the season on a single theme has paid off handsomely.
As promised, an extra episode this week. The protest explosion of 1968, revolution goes pop, and the New Left splinters in the chaotic 70s. Plus, how Gramsci became the go-to Marxist theorist and how the New Left shaped the left to this day
Welcome to the second Origin Story episode of the week as @iandunt.bsky.social & @dorianlynskey.bsky.social conclude the story of the New Left. Listen to Part Two: Children of the Revolution here 👉 linktr.ee/originstoryp...
