Another fantastic film score.🎬
Our Taxi Driver anniversary piece now comes with a #BernardHerrmann playlist. Taxi Driver was his final film score, completed just before his death on December 24, 1975.

Not bad at all, I’ve always liked the opener, “Broken English,” with its squelchy synths and post-punk/art-rock guitar stabs. Wee bit of a late 70s Stones swagger on the track. #1001Albums

Delighted that I was able to contribute to this CD & DVD box set celebrating the brilliance of Dick Gaughan with clips from my TV documentary on him. I can still picture the beautiful landscape of Sligo that we used as a backdrop to his memorable version of Burns’ Westlin Winds.

Probably the finest guitarist Scotland has ever produced, utterly spellbinding.

John Renbourn’s Ship of Fools sails through misty folk, blues, and medieval shadow. His guitar whispers like tide and timber, carrying songs that feel ancient & tender. #NowPlaying 🎧

The opening of side two on Hergest Ridge feels lifted straight from the Morricone/Sergio Leone playbook, an underrated gem, and quite possibly my favourite Mike Oldfield piece. #NowPlaying 🎧

Andy Summers – The Golden Wire

A moody, atmospheric turn from the Police guitarist, ambient textures, and global flavours wrapped around elegant, exploratory guitar. Subtle, cinematic, and rewarding for deep listeners.

Mylo was fi the Isle of Skye, made one album then disappeared from the music scene. Tinnitus and legal issues with sample use were the reasons...I think. #1001Albums
