Trump/Musk is flooding the zone, here is how you keep up: Trump taking cash bribes from oligarchs in exchange for power, Oligarchs steal from US gutting safety & opportunity for working families, Trump/Oligarchs doing horrible things to innocent people to distract US from their crimes against US.
Democratic senators gave up fighting for 24 million to stay in healthcare, to stop Trump from starving 42 million on SNAP, but Trump is not going to stop trying to starve those 42 million. Because making American working families suffer & die is what brings him joy.
Hey, hey *no spoilers*, but all kidding aside: Hector is the only hero in this story, dies fighting a doomed fight for his country that he did everything he could to prevent (and has a meaningful love for his family), while all the other men are really flawed antiheroes.
Anyway, this is the actual book I am reading. Picked it up in a local bookstore last week, before Musk’s “recommendation”!

The People will blame Trump for their hunger, illness, and lack of basic services. He enjoys the suffering too much. But, they will also know Democrats won't fight to save them.
Senate Democrats are idiots & cowards but Trump cannot stop himself from hurting work families: this allows him to kick 24 million off of healthcare, he will keep trying to kick 42 off of food stamps, and he will continue to make life hell for federal workers (ensuring serious service disruptions)

(1) Economy was actually doing well under Biden, and his statistics were not lies. Trump is pointing to lies (2) Biden did things that helped the economy, while Trump raised taxes on working families with tariffs, and fought to end basic subsidies.

seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous
I am filled with rage at the Democratic Elite tonight. Vast majority are not collaborating against US tonight, but too many are and their betrayal is devesting for US. I cannot watch anymore.
Any Democratic senator who votes to end the shutdown *for nothing but empty promises* career is done.

3) Democratic states should ignore (and fight) Trump orders to hurt their own people. We will start seeing a very serious divide in government services & social safety in Democratic & Republicans states. This will really affect quality of life in Republican states. Going to be very dangerous there.

This is very confusing, but in short:
1) For the most part working families are receiving food stamps in Democratic states, but not Republican states.
2) Trump is not just trying everything possible to stop food stamps in general, they are trying to prevent Democratic states from helping their own.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?
Can some Democrat on Tapper's show ask: "You falsely claimed Mainstream Media ignored Biden's age in 2024 and that Democrats did nothing about it. Now in 2025 you are avoiding Trump's: age, confusion, mental & physical decline, degenerate lying, Trump being obviously uninformed. Explain yourself."
US federal government used to get overqualified people to work for less money, because of a mix of civic pride & stability. Musk & Trump & their crowd of sycophants have destroyed that: from Doge to Shutdown this year has been hellish for anyone left or considering joining. We will lose so much.
Important to remember that Air Traffic Controllers were part of Musk's absolutely devastating attack on government workers. Musk did not just kill 100,000's around the world, he also kicked off the year from hell for government workers that will ensure issues for US for at least a generation.

According to Trump (and Supreme Court) he has absolute power to (via social media post): raise & lower taxes, choose how to spend our money & resources, make & enforce law, create & end wars, but
