Think you have to retire the phrase “immigration crackdown” when every major violent spectacle — at least those the news is choosing to highlight — involve US citizens screaming “Check my ID!”
As the Trump administration escalates its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, arrests and aggressive tactics by ICE and the Border Patrol, many seen on viral videos, have intensified the frustration and fear among residents, business owners and immigrant workers. trib.al/zVm2mk5

abolish ice is the centrist position, the position moderates will take to appeal to the center
Wow — New YouGov / Economist poll:

46% support abolishing ICE
43% oppose abolishing ICE

This is the first time that abolishing ICE has received net positive support

Meanwhile the Minnesota FOP literally released a statement saying "We stand arm in arm with ICE"

Local PD don't give a single fuck about regular citizens.

Rep. @AOC: I understand that Vance believes shooting a young mother of three in the face three times is an acceptable America that he wants to live in, and I do not. That is a fundamental difference between Vance and I. I do not believe that the American people should be assassinated in the street.

I was just thinking about this picture of Elian Gonzalez and the national outrage it raised, which lasted for months and was very damaging to the Clinton Admin.

This is not to say "it's always been bad" but that people were infuriated by this as an exceptional moment and now it's every damn day.

we fought, and I'm not kidding you can look it up, a whole revolution to stop shit like this
President Trump declared on Wednesday evening that his power as commander in chief is constrained only by his “own morality,” brushing aside international law and other checks on his ability to use military might to strike, invade or coerce nations around the world.

“So let’s stay brave, stay committed, and stay together. We will remember the fallen, fight like hell for the living, and when this terrible moment is over, we will still have each other, our potential, and the hope of building a better world.”
Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.

I’m not going to lie. I’ve been writing about the War on Terror in its depravity my whole adult life. And the brazen execution of Renee Nicole Good has left me in a state since the moment I watched it.

Too many dems still operating in an 00s"Axis of Evil" mindset.

If you can't call an illegal decapitation strike a bad thing, regardless of who it targeted, then what do you even stand for?
This is just sickening. Back when people were saying "Primary every Democrat," we should have stuck with that
