I literally saw a post two weeks back in which a guy with two jobs was flagellating himself because he was short on rent, lamenting that had he donated plasma more, maybe his rent would be on time. That fact that the ID and supporting docs aren't free is how you know that it's about voter suppression and not legitimate concern.
Also, these are the people that want to repeal the 19th amendment. Preventing women from voting is an extra feature, not a bug.

If you're not interested in long-term accountability and more interested in stopping the DARVO behaviour, use DARVO against them in ways which they find uncomfortable, or even humbling/ belittling/ insulting:
